AUTHOR/POET I have two published novels, The Miracle of Myrtle: Saint Gone Wild and Flirtini with Disaster. In both 2016 and 2017, I won the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning’s Flash Fiction contest and received Honorable Mention again in 2019. My poetry has been included in the anthologies Small Batch, The Messenger is Sudden Thunder, Only One Time Wanted to See You Laughing, Apex Magazine, and was featured at the Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center 2020 International Women’s Festival. I am both a KWW Gypsy Slam and Blood Speaks spoken word poetry winner as well as a headliner at the Bowery Poetry Club in NYC.
PLAYWRIGHT As a museum theatre playwright, I penned plays for museums across the nation, including the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art; Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History; The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis; Minnetrista Museum; Callahan Museum for the Blind; Museum of Texan Cultures; the Hunt-Morgan House; and the New York Medieval Festival. In addition, my work has been performed by NYC’s Bridge Theatre, Expanded Arts, and at the famed Duplex. Also, nine of my murder mystery scripts have been produced by Bluegrass Mystery Theatre.
ARTS PRODUCER In the activist theatre realm, I have developed shows dealing with body objectification (The Body-Love Project), female empowerment (Reclaiming Woman and Restoring Woman), and LGBTQIA issues (Out and Queerology 101). I was an instructor with The Girl Project for five years and founded two feminist artist groups, The Sisters Provocateur and Broads United. For my work with women, I've received four grants from the Kentucky Foundation for Women. In 2020, I served as an instructor, producer, and featured performer for the International Women’s Day Festival at the Lyric Theatre & Cultural Arts Center.
